3D Instant Messenger IMVU – Review & Download

Basically,what it is? Is a 3-D messenging service,in which you’ve got your own 3D avatar,plus a 3D room and furniture and an avatar homepage. You get to choose the outfit and the way your avatar looks,plus you can choose your room and furniture from four options. You can then earn credits,so you can buy more clothes and furniture,which is all explained when you start using IMVU

I found it very weird to start with,because basically all you do is type your comment and press enter,and your comment appears in a little bubble above your head,which then floats away towards the ceiling. Your friends comment then appears in a little bubble above their head. I didn’t read the tutorial of course.

You can move the furniture around in your room and sit on your sofa or in a chair and sit chatting to your friends. You also have the option,by clicking on your avatar,of being able to change your expression,change your mood,you can pull different moves,say breakdance or do backflips and there are different modicons you can use as well.

By clicking on your friends avatar,you can greet them,taunt them,even put a few Kung Fu moves on them, if you want,and my fellow blogger and good friend Carol, from Carols Vault and i, had a very good time yesterday, beating the crap out of each other.We were having a voicechat on GTalk at the same time and had a great laugh.

You also have the option of having a text chat and there are public rooms you can visit, but from the title of some of the rooms, it looks very adult orientated, so it might not be ideal for kids to use. If you do get any abuse in any of the rooms, there is an icon, which you can click on, to report any abuse.

To say i was so sceptical, it’s an experience i’m enjoying, and the only problem i can see with it, is that it uses a lot of bandwidth, so if you are not on unlimited broadband, be careful about the amount of time you spend on here. Apart from that,it’s cool. Download – IMVU
