WiMAX technology had been buzzing around the corners for a long period now. Recently it broke free by the launch of WiMAX USB adapters for mobile use. Airspan is the first company to bring out this device in the market followed by Motorola. Airspans Wimax USB adapter for mobile use is named 16 eUSB and compatible with the IEEE 802.16e-2005 and the Mobile Wimax System thus making it support all the the modes of WiMAX frequency bands. The device also provides greater speed to the wireless mobile users through their USB Ports.

Immediately after Airspan came out with its USB wimax adapter, mobile King Motorola announced its first USB Wimax adapter for Laptops. According to Motorola, they claim that WIMAX technology is unique in its own by having capabilities like high data upload and download speeds. 70 Mbit/s is expected to be the speed of the data transfer on a USB WiMAX device. Motorola will bring out three USB WIMAX models to support the three WIMAX bands which is used Globally.

The Device will probably come out in the market by this year end . According to a survey, Pakistan is said to have the most WIMAX users. The availability of this USB adapter will bring smiles to many users as they break free from the traditional plug and play system of the internet.
