We lately heard in business news about Microsoft’s deal to take over yahoo. The deal went off with no outcome and news agencies reported – “Microsoft corp’s abandoned takeover bid for Yahoo Inc. appears to have culminated with a disheartening thud for those two companies but amounted to yet another coup for online search leader Google Inc”

The story turns out to be embarrassing for Microsoft who offered a whopping $46B for Yahoo which haven’t tasted success in years. Microsoft still seems to believe that they can compete by pushing off great ideas instead of more innovations.

Talking about the yahoo deal, Yahoo went wrong. They could have made a fortune out of this senseless deal put forward by Microsoft. Its is obvious that Yahoo! will look back on this in the years to come as a BIG missed opportunity. Their stocks will continue to decline and they’ll never get another buyout even close to this one.

Microsoft has lost touch with the reality since as early as 2004, and it seems to be getting worse. The video here shows Balmer laughing off iphone when it launched and seemed as a threat to Microsoft’s Zune. Finally what! iphone turned out to be the fastest selling consumer electronics device of all time.

But Listen Microsoft – you guys are capable of doing it. Being On top will make Google lazy and arrogant. Come On, Give them a competition.
